BOSTON, MA (June 16, 2025) – On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, RefugePoint will host its inaugural gala, Finding Refuge Together, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, marking 20 years of partnering with refugees to find lasting solutions. This exclusive black-tie evening will celebrate refugee resilience, raise vital funds amid global aid cuts, and rally support for a future where all refugees can fulfill their potential and rebuild their lives in safety. The event, which will raise funds for refugees to access life-changing solutions, will be co-chaired by Ed Shapiro and George Lehner, and is expected to attract hundreds of guests from around the globe, including Kenya, London, NYC, and Boston, who are committed to finding lasting solutions for refugees.
Guests will enjoy a globally inspired dine-around reception, a live auction featuring bucket-list experiences, and multicultural entertainment that highlights RefugePoint’s global reach across more than 80 countries. The evening will feature curated storytelling and performances led by former refugee and performer Deo Mwano, as well as other to-be-announced artists and musicians.
A centerpiece of the night will be a powerful conversation between Nobel Peace Prize laureate Nadia Murad, a human rights activist and survivor of the Yazidi genocide, and a special celebrity guest (to be announced soon), exploring how they are creating transformational change in the world. The program also includes a special award presentation honoring Barrie Landry, Isabel Allende, and the law firm Goodwin for their extraordinary contributions to advancing refugee support.
“This event is more than a fundraiser; it’s about creating exposure for refugee displacement and the programs we implement, especially given all the government cuts that have significantly decreased RefugePoint’s domestic and global response. We must continue to stand together and support refugees,” said RefugePoint Founder and CEO, Sasha Chanoff. “I am grateful and excited that Nadia Murad has graciously agreed to be honored and partner with us for our 20th anniversary.”

Since 2005, RefugePoint has helped over 180,000 refugees access resettlement and other pathways to safety and thousands more to achieve self-reliance and inclusion in their host communities. RefugePoint has also moved the needle in the refugee response sector, driving the expansion of self-reliance opportunities and scaling third-country solutions. Net proceeds will fund ongoing initiatives to expand access to lasting solutions for refugees, especially those facing vulnerabilities and underserved by aid systems.
