BREAKING NEWS: RefugePoint Celebrates President Biden’s Approval of an Executive Order to Restore the US Refugee Admissions Program

Today, RefugePoint is celebrating President Biden’s announcement of his intention to begin rebuilding the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program and to raise the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program cap from 15,000 to 125,000 people during his first full year.

The renewal of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program will mean that refugee parents will finally have an opportunity to reunite with their children. Unaccompanied minors will have a chance to escape their dangerous circumstances and resettle to foster homes across our country. Those who might not otherwise survive will have a path to security and dignity.

RefugePoint staff across Africa and the Middle East are already working hand in hand with the U.N. Refugee Agency to help actualize President Biden’s commitment to refugees.

“We can finally turn the corner on what is arguably America’s most disgraceful period for supporting refugees,” said RefugePoint’s Executive Director, Sasha Chanoff.
